Reaction Steps

To a solution of the product from Step E (0.18 g, 0.631 mmol) in methanol (10 mL) was added 10% palladium-on-carbon (20 mg). This mixture was maintained under an atmosphere of hydrogen at room temperature for three days. The reaction mixture was filtered and evaporated to a tan solid (0.16 g): mp 60–65° C.; LC/MS m/z 260. Analysis. Calculated for C12H13N5O2.0.5 CH3OH: C, 54.54; H, 5.49; N, 25.44. Found: C, 54.79; H, 5.35; N, 25.29.
