PROCEDURE

A solution of Example 1D (0.1 g, 0.44 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was treated with m-tolylisothiocyanate (0.06 mL, 0.45 mmol), stirred at room temperature overnight, then cooled to 0° C., treated with water, and extracted twice with ethyl acetate. The combined extracts were washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography eluting with 3% methanol/dichloromethane to give 72 mg of the desired product. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 2.30 (s, 3H); 4.53 (s, 2H); 6.96 (d, J=7.12 Hz, 1H); 7.23 (t, J=7.80 Hz, 1H); 7.29 (d, J=7.80 Hz, 2H); 7.57–7.69 (m, 7H); 8.68 (s, 1H); 9.84 (s, 1H); 9.88 (s, 1H); MS (ESI(−)) m/e 372 (M−H)−.
