A stirred suspension of tert-butyl 3-(4-{[(1-adamantylmethyl)amino]carbonyl}-5-chloropyridin-2-yl)prop-2-ynyl[3-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)propyl]carbamate (Example 2(iii)) (0.35 g) and 5% rhodium on carbon (0.020 g) was stirred under a positive pressure (2 barr) of hydrogen until no further uptake was observed. The mixture was filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel eluting with dichloromethane:acetone (19:1 to 9:1) to afford the sub-titled compound (0.24 g) as a colourless gum.
