Procedure
Starting from a mixture of diethyl 2-methyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-6-formylmethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate, hydroxylamine hydrochloride and sodium acetate in acetic acid and acetic anhydride, was obtained an oil of diethyl 2-methyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-6-cyanomethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate, by applying an essentially similar manner to that of Example 4-(2).
