Procedure

Referential Example 1 was repeated but using 278 g of mercaptopropionic acid, 250 g of thioglycollic acid, 181 g of trimethylolpropane and 133 g of propylene glycol to give trimethylolpropane-propylene glycolmercaptopropionic acid-thioglycollic acid ester as a transparent liquid having 2.5 functional bases on an average. This is designated hereinafter as compound (b-4).
