Reaction Steps
A quantity of N-Allyl-n-propylamine (12.7 g of a 35% solution in methanol, 0.042 mole) was dissolved in 50 ml of ethyl ether, plus 1.52 g of carbon disulfide (0.02 mole) was charged into a beaker and the reaction mixture in the beaker was allowed to let stand for approximately 15 minutes, after which time the volatiles were stripped off, leaving behind 3.7 g of a solid residue, which was identified by conventional instrumental techniques as being the subject compound.
