In accordance with Example 3, reaction of 83 g (0.262 mol) of b 2,4-dichlorophenylethyl 2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)-prop-2-yl ketone with 28.2 g (0.455 mol) of dimethyl sulphide/60 g of methyl iodide gives 90 g of 2-(2,4-dichlorophenylethyl)-2-[2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)-prop-2-yl]-oxirane as an oil, which is directly reacted further. ##STR103##
