Reaction Steps

1 g (3.13 mmol) of 3-(6-acetylamino-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)-2-phenyl-2-propenamide was dissolved in 20 ml of methanol and 3.13 ml of sodium hydrate 1 M were added. The solution is maintained at room temperature for 5 hours and then concentrated under vacuum. The residue was redissolved with dichloromethane and washed with water. The organic layer was finally dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated to give 696 mg (80% yield) of the title compound.
