The compound of Example 41 (10.0 g, 50 mmole) is dissolved in tetrabutylammonium flouride (120 mL of a 1.0M solution in tetrahydrofuran, 0.124 mole). Ethyl bromoacetate (8.3 mL, 75 mmole) is added. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature. The reaction mixture is concentrated, then partitioned between dichloromethane and water. The aqueous layer is extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic extracts are washed with water, brine, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent is removed under vacuum to afford the title compound.
