To a suspension of 48.0 g (0.15 mol) of 2-(aminomethyl)-5-(phenylmethoxy)-1-(phenylmethyl)-4(1H)-pyridinone in 1.5 l of ethyl acetate was added 12.8 ml (0.15 mol) of 2-chloroethylisocyanate. The mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature, the product filtered off by suction, washed with ethyl acetate, and dried in vacuo, yielding 59.6 g of the title compound, melting point 130° C.
