Reaction Steps
Following General Procedure E, ethyl 5-phenyl-6-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-pyridine-2-carboxylate (Compound 29, 103 mg, 0.28 mmol) and conc. H2SO4 (5 drops) in MeOH (5 ml) were reacted to produce the title compound as a white solid.
