To a suspension of {1-[7-(4-bromo-2,6-dimethylphenyl)-2,5-dimethyl-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl]piperidin-4-yl}methanol (0.71 g) in water (7 mL) was added concentrated HCl aqueous solution (0.15 mL) under ice-cooling. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 minutes, cooled with an ice-bath again, and stirred for 15 minutes in an ice-cooling bath. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with water and dried to give the title compound (0.73 g).
