Reaction Steps

Following General Procedure E, ethyl 5-(4-ethylphenyl)-6-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate (Compound 48, 60 mg, 0.15 mmol) and conc. H2SO4 (10 drops) in methanol were reacted to produce the title compound as a light yellow solid.
