Following General Procedure M, 3-(4-ethyl-phenyl)-[2,4′]-bipyridinyl-6-carbaldehyde (Compound 58, 50 mg, 0.17 mmol), (3-amino-propyl)-phosphonic acid (24 mg, 0.17 mmol), Bu4NOH (0.17 ml, 0.17 mmol, 1 M in MeOH) and NaCNBH3 (11 mg, 0.17 mmol) in MeOH (3 ml) were reacted to produce the title compound as a white solid.
