TBAF (1M in THF, 16.4 mL) was added to a solution of 1-(9-(5-(2-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)ethyl)-2-fluorobenzyl)-1-oxa-4,9-diazaspiro[5.5]undecan-4-yl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethanone [Example 44, step a] (8.5 g) in THF (100 mL) and the resultant solution allowed to stand at 20° C. for 18 hours. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash silica chromatography, using 2% methanol in dichloromethane containing 1% triethylamine as solvent. Fractions containing the product were evaporated to dryness to afford the subtitled compound. Yield 4.2 g.
