5.3 g (31.1 mmol) of the 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrofluorene (4HFluH) obtained in the item (C) of Example 1 was placed in a 500 mL four-neck flask, to which 100 mL of THF was added under a nitrogen atmosphere. 13 mL (2.6 mol/L) of a hexane solution of n-butyllithium was slowly added dropwise to the solution under stirring at −78° C., followed by stirring at room temperature for 2 hours. Thereafter, a precipitate was collected by filtering, and the solid matter was rinsed with hexane and dried to provide 4.4 g of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrofluorenyllithium (4HFluHLi).
