Procedure
4-fluorobenzoyl chloride was added dropwise to a stirred solution of 3,6,7,8-tetrahydro-imidazo[4,5-d]azepine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (Example 1, 60 mg, 0.29 mmol) and Et3N (0.2 mL) in dry CH2Cl2 at 0° C. under nitrogen. The resulting mixture was allowed to warm to ambient temperature overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo, and the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel eluting with hexane-EtOAc (80:20) to give the title compound as a yellow solid. 1H-NMR(CDCl3): δ 8.27-8.21 (3H, m), 7.16 (2H, t), 7.00 (1 H, s), 5.10 (1 H, br s), 4.35 (2H, q), 3.56 (2H, m), 3.14 (2H, t), 1.39 (3H, t); MS (ES): 330 (MH+).
