A sample of 4-[3-(4-oxo-7-pyrrol-1-yl-4,5-dihydro-3H-benzo[b][1,4]diazepin-2-yl)-phenyl]-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (Example 28) (0.07 g) was reacted with ammonia in an analogous manner to the procedure described in Example 27 to give the title compound (0.05 g) as a light-yellow solid.
