To a solution of ethyl [4-({butyryl[4′-(trifluoromethyl)-1,1′-biphenyl-3-yl]amino}methyl)-2-methylphenoxy]acetate (40 mg, 0.078 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (2 mL), was added 2M sodium hydroxide (1 mL). After stirring for 1 h at room temperature the solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue acidified with 2M HCl, before extraction into ethyl acetate (2×15 mL). The organic solution was dried (MgSO4) and the solvents removed in vacuo to afford the title compound as a white solid (28 mg).
