To a solution of ethyl {4-[((2-methoxyethyl){6-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyrazin-2-yl}amino)methyl]-2-methylphenoxy}acetate (160 mg, 0.32 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (2 mL) was added 2M sodium hydroxide (2 mL). The resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solvents were removed in vacuo and the residue was diluted with water (10 mL) acidified with 2M HCl and extracted with ethyl acetate (2×30 mL). The organic solution was dried (MgSO4) and the solvents removed in vacuo, to afford the title compound as a bright yellow solid (140 mg).
