Procedure
To a solution of 0.1 g of 1,9-dioxo-16-hydroxy-1-hydroxymethyl-16-methyl-10,13-trans-prostadiene (Example 1214) in 0.75 ml of pyridine is added 0.026 g of acetic anhydride. After 18 hr. at room temperature, the solvent is removed at reduced pressure and the residue is chromatographed on silica gel to give the title compound.
