To a sealed tube containing ethoxy[3-(4-fluorophenyl)(1H-indazole-5-yl)]methanimine hydrochloride (300 mg, 0.94 mmol) dissolved in ethanol (15 mL) and triethylamine (0.3 μl, 2.82 mmol) was added a solution of 3-hydroxybutyric acid hydrazide (190 mg, 1.5 mmol) in ethanol. The reaction was sealed and allowed to stir at 70° C. overnight. Solvent was removed and the product was purified via HPLC to yield the title compound. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 8.7 (s, 1H), 8.1 (m, 3H), 7.75 (d, 1H), 7.4 (t, 2H), ES-MS (m/z) 338 [M+1]+.
