Procedure
2.2 g (10 mmoles) of 2,3,4,6,7,12-hexahydro-indolo[2,3-a]quinolizine are dissolved in 100 ml of dichloromethane, 0.5 ml of ethanol and 2.3 g (25 mmoles) of ethyl acrylate are added to the solution, and the mixture is allowed to stand at room temperature for 2 days under argon atmosphere. The solvent is evaporated in vacuo, the residue is triturated with 3×3 ml of petroleum ether, the liquid is decanted, and the solid is dried.
