A mixture of N-[2-[[5-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-2-furanylmethyl]thio]ethyl]-N'-methylsulphonylcarbamimidothioic acid, methyl ester (1.82 g) and 2-(2-furanylmethyl)thio]ethanamine (0.785 g) was heated at 120° for 5 hours. The reaction mixture was chromatographed (silica/ethyl acetate-methanol 3:1) and the appropriate eluate evaporated to dryness to give the title compound (2.18 g), as a yellow oil.
