Procedure
By replacing mono sodium salt of 4-(p-methoxyphenoxy)-5-nitro-3-sulfinobenzoic acid (12 g) for the momo sodium salt of 5-nitro-4-phenylthio-3-sulfinobenzoic acid (11 g) in Example 11B, 5-amino-4-(p-methoxyphenoxy)-3-mercaptobenzoic acid is obtained with a melting point of 182° - 184°C.
