Procedure
While stirring, 10 ml of 2 normal ethereal hydrochloric acid are added dropwise to a solution of 4.2 g of [o-(2,6-dichloro-anilino)-phenyl]-acetic acid-3-(4-pyridyl)-propyl ester (cf. Example 3) in 100 ml of anhydrous ether. The precipitated crystals are filtered off and recrystallised from ethanol/ether. The [o-(2,6-dichloro-anilino)-phenyl]-acetic acid-3-(4-pyridyl)-propyl ester hydrochloride melts at 166°-170°C.
