Procedure
10 ml of ethanol saturated with hydrochloric acid are added with stirring to a solution of the inert salt of 1-[(4-chloro-3-sulfamylbenzoyl)-amino]-2,4,6-trimethylpyridinium hydroxide (3.5 g, 0.01 mol) in ethanol (80 ml). After one hour's stirring, the precipitate formed is filtered off and washed with ethanol. 3.6 g (92%) of 1-[(4-chloro-3-sulfamylbenzoyl)-amino]-2,4,6-trimethylpyridinium chloride of the formula ##STR14## are obtained.
