A solution of 33.5 mg of (S)-1-[[(2S,3S)-3-hexyl-4-oxo-2-oxetanyl]methyl]dodecyl hydrogen malonate (Example N) in 2 ml of acetonitrile was treated with 60 mg of HBTU and 75 mg of isopropylamine. After stirring the reaction mixture was filtered, the filtrate was concentrated and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel with hexane/methylene chloride/ethyl acetate (2:2:1). There were obtained 31.1 mg of (S)-1-[[(2S, 3S)-3-hexyl-4-oxo-2-oxetanyl]methyl]dodecyl-N-isopropylmalonamate, m.p. 59°.
