Procedure
0.5 g (0.0026 mol) of 1-benzyl-4-hydroxypiperidine and 0.64 ml (0.0046.mol). of triethylamine were dissolved in 20 ml of toluene and treated with 0.32 ml (0.0027 mol) of 2-fluoro-benzoyl chloride. The mixture was boiled at reflux for 6 hrs., the precipitate was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was chromatographed over silica gel with ethyl acetate/hexane (1:1). 0.68 g (83%) of 1-benzyl-piperidin-4-yl 2-fluoro-benzoate was obtained as a colorless oil.
