The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in step 2 of Example 58 from methyl 2,5-dichloronicotinate and 3-chlorobenzylzinc chloride: 1H-NMR (CDCl3) δ 8.65 (1H, d, J=2.6 Hz), 8.17 (1H, d, J=2.6 Hz), 7.26–7.12 (4H, m), 4.52 (2H, s), 3.89 (3H, s).
