Procedure
To a stirred solution of (1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-piperidin-4-yl)-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (46 g, 0.23 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (0.5 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (0.5 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for ½ hour. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was partitioned between a saturated aqueous solution of NaHCO3 and ethyl acetate. The aqueous phase was extracted twice more with ethyl acetate. Then the combined organic layers were combined and concentrated in vacuo to provide the titled compound. MS (DCI) m/z 239 (M+H)+.
