Starting from 2,4-dichlorobenzylmethylamine (Example 1, intermediate 1) and N-[3-(2-bromoacetyl)phenyl]acetamide (cf. Example 1, intermediate 2), the aniline derivative 3-(6,8-dichloro-2-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-4-yl)phenylamine (cf. Example 1, intermediate 6) was prepared in a similar manner to the synthetic route described in Example 1.
