120 mg of 6,7-dihydro-2H-benzo[6,7]cyclohepta[cd]indazol-5-ylmethanol prepared in Example 1-h was treated by the procedure of Example 1-f using 500 mg of manganese dioxide, to give 120 mg of the title compound as a colorless powder.
