To 7-[(3R)-3-[(tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino]-4-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl) butanoyl]-2-(trifluoromethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-α]pyrazine (63.1 mg, 0.12 mmol, from Step E) was added 3 mL of methanol saturated with hydrogen chloride at 0° C. The reaction was stirred at ambient temperature for 45 min. Concentration gave the title compound as a white solid.
