100 ml of 4 N hydrochloric acid-dioxane solution was added to a solution of 19 g of t-butyl 2-(4-amino-2-fluoro-phenyl)-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate obtained in Example 338 (step 2) in a mixture of 50 ml of ethyl acetate and 50 ml of methanol, with cooling with ice, and the reaction liquid was stirred overnight at room temperature. The solvent was evaporated away under educed pressure to obtain the entitled compound as a white solid.
