To a solution of 4e (11 mg, 0.025 mmol) in 5 mL of a mixture of THF:MeOH:H2O (2:1:2) was added a solution of Oxone® (31 mg, 0.05 mmol) in H2O, buffered with NaHCO3 (0.05 mmol). The solution was stirred at 0° C. for 1 h and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and purified by flash column chromatography to provide 5-[4-(2-methyl-quinolin-4-ylmethoxy)-benzenesulfonylmethyl]-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester 4f (10 mg, 85%). MS (ESI+) (M+1)=468.
