Reaction Steps
The compound obtained in Step D (9.21g), in the form of a base, is dissolved in 150 ml of methanol and then palladium-on-carbon (900 mg) is added to the solution. The reaction mixture is stirred at ambient temperature under hydrogen for 4 hours. After removal of the palladium-on-carbon by filtration, the organic phase is evaporated under reduced pressure. The oil obtained is taken up in ether saturated with HCl. The precipitate formed is suction-filtered off and recrystallised from acetonitrile to yield the title product in the form of a white solid.
