Procedure
Potassium cyanide (5.52 g; 85 mmol) is suspended in 50 ml of DMSO and the solution is heated to 80° C. The compound obtained in Step H (6.3 g; 17 mmol), dissolved beforehand in 50 ml of DMSO, is progressively added to the preceding solution, and then the reaction mixture is heated again at 80° C. for 30 minutes. The solution is poured into 150 ml of water and extracted three times with dichloromethane. The organic phase is then dried over magnesium sulphate, filtered and evaporated. The dark red oil obtained is purified by chromatography on silica gel (eluant:cyclohexane with the progressive addition of ethyl acetate until the proportions 8/2 are reached) and the solid obtained is recrystallised from cyclohexane to yield the title product in the form of a white solid.
