Reaction Steps

The compound obtained in Step I (6.3 g; 21 mmol) is dissolved in 150 ml of methanol saturated with NH3(g). The solution is poured into an autoclave and Raney nickel (600 mg) is added. The reaction mixture is then stirred at 60° C. and under a hydrogen pressure of 50 bars for 6 hours. After removal of the catalyst by filtration, the solution is evaporated under reduced pressure and the title compound is obtained in the form of a colourless oil.
