The radical polymerization was conducted in a 70 ml stainless autoclave equipped with a magnetic stirrer. After adding 3.0 g of CF2═CFCH2CH2Si(CH3)2H, 0.1 g of (n-C4H9)3B, and 20 ml CH2Cl2 under argon, 20 ml of VDF and 5 ml of HFP were introduced into the reactor under vacuum by condensing the monomers at liquid nitrogen temperatures. About 15 ml of O2 was then introduced to initiate the polymerization. The autoclave was slowly warmed to room temperature and then immersed in an oil bath at 80° C. for 20 hours. After recovering the unreacted monomers, the slurry was dried under vacuum to obtain 4.5 g of a white polymer powder, with 40% yield.
