Procedure

600 mg of 10% palladium carbon was added to a mixture of 1.58 g of 5-(α-acetoxybenzyl)-3-phenyl-6-methoxypyridazine, 2.0 ml of triethylamine and 10 ml of ethanol, and the mixture was subjected to hydrocracking in a hydrogen atmosphere. The catalyst was filtered off, and the solvent was removed. Then, the residue was subjected to NH-silica gel (Fuji Silicia) and eluted with ethyl acetate, to give 1.31 g of the target compound.

Workup

  1. filtrationThe catalyst was filtered off
  2. customthe solvent was removed
  3. washeluted with ethyl acetate
