Procedure

5-Formyl-4-methyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid (500 mg, 3.27 mmol) reacted with 1-methylpiperazine (0.43 mL, 3.92 mmol) to give 3-methyl-4-(4-methyl-piperazine-1-carbonyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde.
