To 3-methyl-4-(3-(pyrimidin-4-yl)pyridin-2-yloxy)benzenamine (93 mg, 0.33 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (8 mL) was added saturated sodium bicarbonate (4 mL) followed 5 minutes later by phosgene (20% solution in toluene, 0.27 mL, 0.50 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 15 minutes at RT, diluted with CH2Cl2 and extracted with water. The organic layer was dried over sodium sulfate, filtered, concentrated and used without purification.
