Procedure

5-[2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-3-methoxymethoxy-propoxy]-quinazoline-2,4-diamine (Step 6, Example 68) (68 mg; 0.17 mmol) is dissolved in methanol (2 mL), and diluted with 4M HCl in dioxane (1 mL). The reaction is heated in a sealed tube to 60° C. overnight. The solvent is removed under N2 flow. The resulting solid is triturated with 20% MeOH/Ether, and the resulting title compound is filtered and dried under vacuum at 35° C. for 3 hours providing a total of 40 milligrams of 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(2,4-diaminoquinazolin-5-yloxy)-propan-1-ol hydrochloride.
