Procedure
To a solution of 3-benzyloxy-1-isopropyl-5-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1H-pyrazole (3.7 g) in dichloromethane (50 mL) was added bromine (0.98 mL) at 0° C., and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour. A saturated sodium hydrogen carbonate aqueous solution was added to the reaction mixture, and the organic layer was separated. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (eluent: hexane/dichloromethane=2/1) to give the title compound (3.3 g).
