5-(Phenylmethyl)-5-azaspiro[2.4]heptane-4,7-dione (Example 128) (2.8619 g, 13.29 mmol), sodium acetate (2.23 g, 26.59 mmol), and O-methylhydroxylamine hydrochloride (2.22 g, 26.59) was dissolved in 65 mL of MeOH. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and then diluted with 300 mL of DCM. The mixture was washed with sat. aq. NaHCO3 (200 mL), and the organics were dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to provide (7Z)-5-(phenylmethyl)-5-azaspiro[2.4]heptane-4,7-dione 7-(O-methyloxime) (3.0864 g, 95%). LCMS: (M+H)+: 245.1.
