Procedure

To a solution of N-(4-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-3-{2-[(5-chloro-2-pyrimidinyl)oxy]ethoxy}-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-N-(phenylsulfonyl)benzene sulfonamide (Example 47) (60 mg) in methanol (4 ml), at room temperature, was added an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxyde (1M, 510□l). After three hours the reaction was quenched by the addition of an aqueous saturated solution of ammonium chloride (5 ml) and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×5 ml). The combined organic fractions were washed with brine (10 ml), dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The yellow residue was purified by preparative TLC (silica) eluted with dichloromethane:methanol (95:5) yielding the title compound as a colourless oil (26 mg).
