Procedure

Prepared according to the method described in Example 1(ii) above from 1-hydroxy-5-methoxytetralin-1-yl-carboxylic acid, methyl ester (1.11 g; 4.7 mmol; from step (i) above) and LiOH.H2O (0.395 g; 9.4 mmol). Yield 460 mg (36%).
