Procedure

The sub-title compound was prepared according to the method described in Example 1(ii) above from 1-hydroxy-7-nitrotetralin-1-yl-carboxylic acid, methyl ester (2.0 g; 8.3 mmol; from step (i) above) and LiOH.H2O (0.7 g; 16.6 mmol). Yield 1.72 g (88%).
