Procedure
A mixture of ethyl (±)-10,11-dihydro-3-[3-(pyrimidin-2-ylamino)1-propyloxy]-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene-10-acetate (0.17 g, 0.38 mmol), 10% palladium on charcoal (0.085 g, 0.08 mmol), 4 M HCl in dioxane (0.1 mL, 0.4 mmol) and ethanol (5 mL) was shaken under H2 (48 psi) for 6 hr, then the catalyst was removed by filtration through celite®. The filtrate was concentrated to give the title compound (0.19 g) as a yellow oil: MS (ES) 436.3 (M+H)+.
